New York City, 1 Januari 2024! 01.41

Banyak hal yang di lalui di tahun 2023, dari hari pertama hingga hari terakhir semua penuh makna, banyak hal yang benar benar tidak aku duga sama sekali, mulai dari tiba tiba dapet hadiah sepeda, dapet laptop, dapet drone, tiket pesawat, bahkan visa dengan secepat kilat. Sungguh tahun yang sangat memorable dan benar benar menjadi tahun yang sangat indah. Namun di penghujung tahun menjadi sebuah kejadian yang menjadi sebuah muhasabah untuk diri sendiri, ternyata semaksimum usaha kita kalau allah ga ngijinin ya ga terjadi, jadi ceritanya tanggal 31 Desember aku pergi sama temen temen aku ke New York City, ya itulah aku punya ambisi yang besar tapi kadang terlalu keras kepala dan sedikit memaksakan diri, kadang itu merugikan orang lain. Cambukan besar untuk diri aku untuk bisa mendengarkan saran dari orang, tidak memaksakan kehendak, tidak berekspetasi tinggi dan tidak gegabah dalam bertindak. Semoga di tahun 2024 semakin bertambahkanya usia nanti semakin banyak yang bisa dimaknai dan harus dipelajari, jangan diulang kembali dan jadikan pelajaran, sejatinya kita adalah pembelajar hingga akhir hayat. Selamat tahun baru! Selamat bertumbuh dewasa!

Awal ku memikirkan tentang nya, waduh sepertinya dia anak yang pemalas. ya itu hanya dugaan ku, karena aky

 Ini bukan tentang merawat tumbuhan tomat, tapi tentang  berbicara dengan mahluk ciptaan tuhan. 

Sejujurnya aku ga suka tanaman, aneh.. tiba tiba tumbuh, tiba tiba berbuah, tiba tiba layu, tanpa berbicara satu kata pun. Kalau disuruh milih aku lebih baik memelihara 10 ekor sapi, ia bergerak, bersuara, kalau merasa sakit ia menunjukan gejala. 

Di minggu pertama aku harus beradaptasi dengan tanaman tanaman ini, “kok iso” iya kok iso temen temen aku mahasiswa lulusan pertanian dari seluruh dunia punya banyak tenaga untuk melakukan hal ini secepat itu. dan kalian harus tau, di minggu pertama dari pagi buta sampe matahari terbenam aku hanya menyelesaikan 1 line dan temen temen ku? 6 line bahkan kalian tau Sirina? temen ku dari Afrika? 9 line per day🥲

Aku meng compare diriku dengan mereka bukan untuk menjadi rapuh dan menyerah, tapi menjadi energi ku “kok mereka bisa, aku engga?”

Pikir ku sebelum tidur “bener kayanya pilihan aku pergi kesini, 3 tahun aku belajar kayanya ga ada apa apanya, aku harus belajar lagi” 

Kita kan 1 rumah, jarang ada waktu untuk scroll sosial media, habis dari greenhouse semua mandi, pergi ke gym, makan malem, ngobrol bareng di ruang tamu, terus semua tidur. Aku bener bener suka kehidupan ku disini, teratur.

Saat makan malam aku tanya ke sirina “siri, kok iso? You have some trick for me?”

Jawaban sirina cukup mencambuk bagi ku “Cindy, don’t compare to each other, focus compare with your self. Kamu bandingkan dirimu dengan minggu sebelumnya, minggu ini gapapa 1 hari 1 line, minggu depan 2 line perhari, sampe akhirnya kamu bisa seperti saya, ini tentang mindset cindy, kamu jauh ke sini meninggalkan keluarga dan teman mu di Indonesia untuk belajar, dan ini saat nya untuk kamu belajar, aku yakin setelah 1 bulan kamu disini kamu bisa seperti ku, tinggal kamu minta doa pada tuhan mu untuk di beri “power” untuk melakukan ini semua”

Hari ini tepat minggu ke 3 aku di Amerika. “Your line is beautiful Cindy, your rafting is good and cutting socer is good” ucap Miss Rosa.

Bener kata Sirina, kita tinggal ngobrol aja sama tuhan kita, untuk minta di beri kekuatan, aku juga ngobrol sama tanaman tanaman aku, untuk bisa kuat dan tumbuh, jangan patah, nanti aku merasa bersalah.

We think that what makes people have different kind of life trajectories about success or poor, being respected or being marginalized etc is not absolutely contingent on the perspective of knowledge, it’s about initial capital that this people have to begin with, it’s about how are they being nurtured and how the surrounding environment/culture view human kind.

Genetic manipulation or laso called genetic modification is the direct manipulation of an organism’s genes using biotechnology. It’s a set of technologies used to changethe genetic makeup of cells including the transfer of genes within and accross species boundaries to produce improved or novel organism. In my point of view, genetic manipulation technology is very beneficial especially curing someone from rare diseases. For example, in that video a baby was produced and designed to help her brother who is suffering from Thalassemia major. Thalassemia major is a disease in which lack of protein production in red blood cells that develops jaundice and slows human growth and development. In that case, genetic manipulation technology made embryo which has manipulated and then it was implanted to the mother’s womb. And after the baby turned 18 months, her spinal cord was transplanted to her brother. So that’s the procedure how Thalassemia major can be cured. 

But even this genetic manipulation technology is very helpful for human, there must be some strict regulations from government about genetic manipulation technology. So this practice isn’t abused. There are some cases that use this procedure in wrong way. For example there are some families eho use this genetic manipulation technology to produce a baby according to thei wish such as the baby’s gender, immune system, etc. This certainly violates ethics and has an impact on future generation. 

So the conclusion is the genetic manipulation technology will be very beneficial especially curing someone from rare diseases. But there must be some strict regulations from the government about this genetic manipulation technology. So there are No. ethical blunders in this practice which have impact on future generation.

Power is not given, you have to earn it yourself and fight for it.

At this moment I would like to talk about gender and equality, and this is SDGs point number 5 

Gender inequalities are still deep-rooted in every society. Women suffer from lack of access to decent work and face occupational segregation and gender wage gaps. In many situations, they are denied access to basic education and health care and are victims of violence and discrimination. They are under-represented in political and economic decision-making processes.

    Ladies and gentlemen, gender is various attributes and behaviors that are attached to women and men and shaped by culture, and from this, it emerges what is appropriate for women and men. For example, it is still a matter of controversy if any woman sits in charge of leadership, meanwhile if the position is held by a man, it does not matter. The impact of this system is the birth of a product Gender legal which is more detrimental to women. Reality like this is built by the socio-cultural system of patriarchy.

Why is a Gender Perspective Important in Poverty Diagnosis?

    According to the data on the representation of women in Indonesia in political institutions, only 9 out 100 percent of women represent the people as a result of problems that occur in the private sphere, such as violence against women, are not program targets.

The issue of gender inequality exists in every aspect of social life, starting from the social, political and economic structures.

In terms of women's access to the labor market, it appears that there is a tendency for women to enter the labor market to be much smaller in number than men.

Being productive, reproductive and carrying out social functions in the community, women always carry out these three responsibilities, while men are  responsible for productive work only. Many women are educated equal to men but have to give up work opportunities because they have to be responsible for domestic work. They have a double burden because they work outside the home and still have to be responsible for doing housework  and parenting. When they want to work outside the home, unmarried women generally have to get permission from parents and those who are already married must get permission from the husband.

Apart from facing limited access to the labor market and work, women also face the problem of wage discrimination. Many women (especially in rural areas) do not have assets of production and skills to work in the formal sector, so they must ultimately try their luck in the informal sector, among others, by becoming TKW. Women's access to health services is very easy. Is there any insurance if a woman gives birth to a child who will live in prosperity?

Indonesia is now included in the public sphere. However, the participation of women, for example, in public work has not guaranteed the fulfillment of the rights of women workers. They still receive discriminatory treatment in the workplace. The wages they receive tend to be lower than that male workers. Benefits received by male workers are not necessarily accepted by women workers, even for their type the same job.

Either going to a career or becoming a housewife, a woman must be highly educated because she will become a mother. Smart mothers will produce smart children. as Dian Sastro once said.

When a woman can have a career and be successful in her field, there is a big responsibility that must be carried by a woman, namely the responsibility of taking care of the family, especially educating the baby. Shouldn't a woman have the knowledge to teach her baby? Therefore, education is important 

The world is getting more advanced so that women's knowledge is not restricted because of the patriarchal system. Higher education to make achievements for women is knowledge and the knowledge will later be transmitted to their children. But in essence, women are always seen as weak and helpless creatures compared to men whereas, it is from the wombs of women that every human being in this world is born. With all their responsibility, compassion and strength, women in this world educate and raise great leaders. The proverb once said that if a woman gives birth to a son, she will give birth to a leader, but if a woman gives birth to a girl, she will create a new leader for the future. It's time for women to rise. It is time for patriarchy towards women to be eliminated as cleanly as possible. It is time for the world to realize that women's rights are no longer nonsense. Education, freedom of opinion, equality and others should be felt by women without fear of threats, fear of harassment, and fear of lowering self-esteem.
